Which Option is Best for Your Office?
As a general rule, we suggest most offices start with our “Full Consulting” because you get the most change for your office in the shortest period of time with the least amount of effort required by the doctor. This is also usually the best option for a practice upgrading to Open Dental from other management software. We require a 3-month commitment because so much of our time is required to do all the set up on your system and to acquaint the staff with all the advantages Open Dental can bring to your practice. Depending upon how quickly staff embraces our systems, we find that at the end of 3 months some offices are able to “step down” to “Consulting Light” or even to the Membership Access program.
For an office that needs a “tune-up” in a specific area such as collections / AR or new patient flow, “Consulting Light” may be a good option. You need to do more of the work on your end but you can still get a lot of benefits for the practice with considerable savings.
If you are a “Do It Yourself” kind of manager who would just like some suggestions to improve your practice, the “Membership Access” option might work best for you. You have access to all the forms, checklists, sheets, etc. along with a ton of videos on a variety of topics to help a practice provide better care, become more profitable and do things more easily. We provide an overall “course outline” as well as “learning guides” for staff members. On average, we produce about one new video each week. These vary in length from 5 minutes to up to 50 minutes. We notify all our clients when we post a new video and also add it to the “course outline” and “learning guides” when appropriate.
