Most of our full consulting clients “graduate” to Consulting Light after 3 to 6 months – after the initial customization and training are completed.
The office still has full support from us but on a less structured basis.
We continue to recommend changes in your office systems as Open Dental evolves with new features.
We are available to train new employees or to re-train existing employees to improve their skills.

Which Option is Best for Your Office?
As a general rule, we suggest most offices start with our “Full Consulting” package, as it delivers the most change for your office in the shortest period of time, with the least effort required from the doctor. This is also usually the best option for a practice upgrading from other management software to Open Dental.
There is no contract, so you can drop the consulting at any time. However, most practices remain on Full Consulting for 3 to 6 months to complete our customization and show the entire staff how best to use Open Dental. They then elect to “graduate” to Consulting Light and usually continue on that option for our ongoing training, monitoring, coaching, and integration of new Open Dental features as they become available.
For an office that needs a “tune-up” in a specific area, such as collections / AR or new patient flow, “Consulting Light” may be a good option. You need to do more of the work on your end, but you can still get significant benefits from the practice with considerable savings.
